Dior Couture Tribute

This Monday a new tribute was released and this time it was Dior! The collection is a pleasure to the eyes, great quality, cohesion and stand out pieces. It reminds me of the old times tributes with the beautiful, statement clothes and not the casual wear the recent tributes are consisted of.
The prices are okay in general, some items are more on the expensive side like the "White Rose Embroidered Skirt" (38 stardollars), but overall it's a good deal for a high quality collection. There is a dress (Dior Silk Couture Dress, 65 stardollars) available only for superstars (second floor, dress on the middle).
Tribute accessories are always on my wishlist, and the shoes on this collection is a must have! I'm also a sucker for high waisted cropped pants and so the two pairs were an immediate purchase. As for the statement piece of the collection, the "Couture Layered Dress", even though it's pink, it stands out for its unique and original design.
Clothes : Dior Couture Black Trousers, Dior Couture Plum Trousers, Couture Layered Dress | Accessories : Peach Satin Bow, Plum Pearls Necklace | Shoes : White Couture Heels, Plum Couture Heels, Black Dior Heels *** I'm wearing : White Rose Embroidered Skirt, Dior Couture | White Rose Couture Top, Dior Couture | Snow Sleeve Jacket, Decades | Blush Dior Heels, Dior Couture | Several Plum and Blush Pearls Necklaces | Left and Right Chain Shoulder Pad, Archive | Joanne Royalty Precious Armour Necklace, Royalty | Chanel Inspired Necklace designed by me | Hair designed by dissolvedgirl

Lately on Stardoll : Fendi Tribute, It Girls, Windows on the World and Curlfriend

Hey there, I'm back from an unexpected trip near the sea and away from my laptop! You can see a few snapshots I uploaded on my instagram here. It was a relaxing and pleasant week, exactly what I needed in this summer heat :) Speaking of which, there are only 9 days left for the thermometer to fill up, and it seems that it's moving very slowly. I'm worried that it won't reach the last bonus...
Except the thermometer, a lot more have happened during my absence. I'll try to sum them up in this post.
We got three store releases, It Girls, Windows on the World and the Fendi Tribute.

The It Girls collection was my favourite of the three. A great collection with many interesting pieces, but I was mostly eager to try on the "Crossover Cardigan" and the "Olive Stockholm Jacket". I ended up buying a lot more. I was pleasantly surprised with the Linen Boater Top and Trousers, because I find stripy clothes difficult to style but these two seem to be very versatile! The "Striped Boater Bikini" and the "Rhinestone Tiara Headpiece" (not pictured below) were my last two picks.

The Fendi Tribute on the other hand dissapointed me. The prices weren't exactly appealing and that totally put me off from buying some items I have spotted on the spoilers. I invested on the "Nude Monster Wallet" thinking I could resize it and wear it as a clutch, which I did in the picture below. My other two picks are basic pieces that I know I'll wear them a lot, the "Black Fendi Belt" and the "Nude Gold Heels"

There's not much to say for the Windows on the World collection. The clothes are not my style, they are too dressy for my liking so I only got the "Black Cigarette Pants" because you can't never go wrong with a pair o black trousers :)

I'm wearing : (left) Crossover Cardigan, It Girls | Black Cigarette Pants, Windows on the World | Black Lace Dress, Basics * | PPQ Black Gabriel Bag, PPQ | Lace Up Cut Out Booties, Nelly | Crossover Knot Belt, Apres Ski *  (right) Linen Boater Top, It Girls | Linen Boater Trousers, It Girls | Black Fendi Belt, Fendi Tribute | Gianni White Gladiators, LE | Nude Monster Wallet, Fendi Tribute  (hair designed by dissolvedgirl and necklace by me)  *starcoins items

The last thing that happened this week and the most awaited was the Curlfriend stardesing pieces. The quality of the new pieces is so much better than the older ones, and it makes it much easier. even for a begginer, to create a wig. Plus the final results will cost you less since you won't need to use many extra pieces to create shadings. I hope they'll soon take into consideration the request of many members for more wig spots. Anyway, I can't wait to see what everyone will create, I didn't have the time to look around buut I bet there is a lot of awesomeness on the hair bazaar at the moment :p

Museum Mile Fashion Vs. Art

A new collection of Museum Mile was released today. It is limited and already some of the items are sold out. The collection includes designer decor (Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Celine), five designer outfits (inspired by Elie Saab, Dior, Chanel) and a nailpolish (!). It seems that this is the last tribute store of the season. Visit our blog partner Stardoll Realbrands to see the real versions of the clothes (here)
The highlight of the collection was the "Butterfly Couture Dress". It was animated and costed 64 stardollars. By the time I got in the store is was nearly sold out. My other favourite were the "Dior Inspired Heels", for 22 stardollars, a beautiful pair of pointy black heels with nude straps. I can imagine them in a tone of outfits! The interior was my last purchase even though I don't see why this had to be limited..
Overall the collection has some interesting pieces and for a limited collection the prices are decent, close to any other tribute store.

Versace Tribute

The second tribute of the season is here and it is as much dissapointing as the first one. A Versace tribute was the worst desicion Stardoll could make. Like we don't have enough of these gold, zebra, leopard prints and over the top tight and revealing clothes already. I don't want to dress my doll like a trashy reality tv star. Overall a store with flat looking clothes and lack of quality and good taste. I only liked the "Vogue Chain Purse" but I do believe it's not worth 20 stardollars.

Lately on Stardoll : Saint Laurent Paris Tribute and Callie's Picks Issue No. 17 : Urban Legends

I will be honest, I'm only writing this post for my blog archive. These two new collections were fairly dissapointing and I hardly found two or three things I liked, but not enough to buy them. The Saint Laurent tribute has some cute accessories but they are overpiced, like the "Spike Velvet Bow" for 16 stardollars, and the "Heavy Chainlinnk Necklace" for 13 stardollars.

However I have spotted two dolls that managed to make those clothes work and created some stunning outfits. Marbum has styled the "Oversized Jersey" from Callie's Picks in a brilliant way, I love the whole sports luxe feeling. voula_beauty wore a black and white outfit, very classy and elegant and added a fresh and young touch with the "Hot Yellow Stilettos" from Saint Laurent Paris.

Saint Laurent Paris Tribute Collection

The third tribute store for this month has been released and it's an YSL tribute. The store has two floors and there are plenty of mini dresses and casual clothes and a gown. The prices range from 14 to 44 stardollars. You can also buy the interior for 35 stardollars.
The shoes, oh the shoes...How beautiful are they! And the bags, of course, are so chic and classic.
On the other hand the clothes are not impressive. There is only one gown in this tribute which is disapointing. My favourite clothing pieces are by far the "Slimane Sequin Dress", the "Saint Laurent Gown" and the "Heidi Seattle Sweater" . Everything else is mediocre and some of them are just ugly ( Mesh Hedi Dress. Why so much exposure? I just want my dolly's butt to be covered, is that too much to ask for? And all those super mini dresses..).
And here is my outfit. This time I have only one outfit and it's more like a demonstration on how to create your own gown.

Valentino Tribute Collection

A Valentino tribute store was released today.
The store has two floors and it consists of both formal and casual clothes.
The prices range from 12 to 60 (!) stardollars. You can also buy the interior for 38 stardollars.
Once more it was a disappointment, for many reasons.
How can a pair of jeans be part of a Valentino tribute store? Why? Where are the beautiful dresses and gowns. I see a lot of stuff that shouldn't be in this tribute store, like the Belted Camo Blouse , the Stud Rock Denim and the Bow Valentino Dress.
And why on earth do they ruin beautiful dresses by attaching belts to them? (e.g. Classic Valentino Dress , Stud Cashmere Dress , Valentino Red Jumpsuit).
Of course not everything is bad, there are some pieces that are great, especially the shoes.

This is how I styled them :

Chanel Tribute Collection

The new collection of Chanel was released today.
The prices range from 14 (Chanel Couture Rings) to 64 (Chanel Tribute Wedding Dress) stardollars. You can also buy the interior for 42 stardollars.
I find that this store is extremely overpriced. Example : the "CC Hearts Tee" is a ordinary white crop top with the Chanel logo and it costs 32 stardollars.
But what I dislike the most is the lack of elegance. Chanel is an iconic brand with so beautiful, elegant, inspiring and fashion forward collections. It don't see any of these qualites in this store.
Stardoll recreated the clothes so badly, most of them look tacky and the way they displayed them just make things worst.
Only three things stand out to me, the "Chains Tweed Jacket" for 38 stardollars, the "Gathered Tulle Blouse" for 26 stardollars and the "Chanel Box Handbag" for 35 stardollars.

This is how I styled them.
What I'm wearing :

Gathered Tulle Blouse , 26 stardollars , Chanel Tribute
Tonal Printed Full Dress , 15 stardollars , Decades
Couture Witch Dress , Free , Halloween Pass

Lately on Stardoll : Minimalism and Tress Up New Collection, Hot Hot Buys Calendar, Chanel Tribute and Subcouture

Stardoll lately is trying to take all my money away. They keep releasing new collections and my wishlist is full of stuff I can't buy but I desprerately want...
A new collection of Minimalism was released yesterday. The prices range from 48 to 146 starcoins and from 4 to 30 stardollars.
My highlights of this collection are : the "Rollercoaster Bookcase"  for 30 stardollars, the "Capitel Chair" for 14 stardollars and the "Minimal Mirror" for 146 starcoins.
Overall it was a very nice collection but expensive.

A new holiday collection of Tress Up was also released. There are beautiful wigs as always, most of them are long. I'm not a fan of long hair but I can see a lot of people loving that new collection.
The prices range from 13 to 18 stardollars.
My personal favourite is the "Leila Hair" for 13 stardollars. It's definately not something you would wear for New Year's Eve but it's lovely and fun.

In other news, this month we won't have the regular Hot Buys. Instead, we'll have a Hot Hot Buys calendar, which is great news for us (not for our pockets though). The calendar starts on December 1st.

Next week a new Chanel Tribute will be released. From the spoilers, I can't say I'm excited for this collection. There are a lot of casual items like t-shirts and pants.
In the picture below you can see some spoilers with my favourite pieces.

And lastly we will have also have a new brand called "Subcouture" in Starplaza. I don't know yet if it's gonna be an entirely new store, an old one with a different name or a store for tributes.
