Callie's Picks Issue No. 25 : Reddy For Fall

I'm wearing : Floral Embroidered Jkt, Callie's Picks/Archive | Haute Ciuture Black Lace Top, Royalty | Love Fighter Jeans, Nelly | Lucite Heel Boots, Subcouture | Burgundy Shoulderbag, Callie's Picks/Givenchy | For the jean lace patch I used : Lacey Tights, Mooxie Teenz | Studded Cuff, Fallen Angel ||

(First of, let me say that Stardoll should spend more time picking names of the collections. Reddy for Fall? Really? )
As you probably already know, it's a color themed collection. I don't mind wearing red, there are some beautiful shades of it, but I don't think a total red look is the best idea, let alone fourteen of them. I would prefer to see more colors in this collection to blend with the red.
The first thing I did when I saw the collection was to add the "Floral Embroidered Jkt" on my cart and buy it in a heartbeat. Usually these kind of jackets/cardigans can look outdated or mature, but this one is such a strong piece. The style and pattern work great together, and it literally looks good with anything underneath! The "Burgundy Shoulderbag" (originally from Givenchy Tribute) is a classic bag in a classic color and I think it's a great investment. I've already owned the "Burgundy Ruffle Blouse", also from Givenchy, and the truth is that I have barely worn it once or twice. However I still think it's a great addition to a wardrobe, I just haven't figured out the right way to style it yet. As for the dresses, I have mixed feelings. The "Sheer Dress" (originally from Sonia Rykel) is without doubt a stunning dress but it's way different from what I usually wear. I only bought it because of the sleeves, I'm seriously drooling over them, soooo beautiful. I thought that I could somehow hide the dress while still showing the sleeves but it didn't work out...The same goes for the "Longoria Dress". I wish it was two separated pieces. The shine and that (hideous) belt ruins it for me, but at the same time the slit and the neckline are very feminine and flattering. I had some spare stardollars so I decided to give it a chance, I wouldn't have bought it under different circumstances.

Nelly and Original Future Haul

Yep, it's a haul! I can't believe it but I got almost half of the stuff from the new Nelly collection, and a few from Original Future. Black and white is my weakness, and there was plenty of it in the new collections. I may got a bit far with excitement and made some impulse purchases, like the "Box Sunglasses" or the "Tartan Shirt", which in second though seems a bit pricey. If I had to pick one item only, that would probably be the "Quilted Backpack". It's really refreshing to see Stardoll trying to figure out different ways of wearing bags, instead of the usual hanging down from your hand way. I also loved the "Prada Inspired Dress", which is a superstar exclusive piece. It's unique, a bit bizarre and very cute!
I still believe that the Nelly clothes are flat graphic wise, but this time, since the pieces were interesting, I didn't give too much attention on that.
P.S. I just realised that Nelly is not expensive in real life. I might actually consider getting the Vogue sweatshirt!
My picks from Original Future : High Waisted Pleather Pants, Platform Runners *, Mesh Baseball Tunic ||
My picks from Nelly : Box Sunglasses, Kayleigh Collar Top, Wedge High Knee Boots, Off Shoulder Heavy Knit, Tartan Shirt, Love Fighter Jeans, Platform Ankle Strap Pump, Tres En Vogue Sweatshirt, Stripped Skirt, Quilted Backpack, Selene Playsuit ||
I'm wearing : Prada Inspired Dress, Original Future | Deconstructed White Skirt, Archive * | White House Skirt, Windows on the World | Cropped Cape Top, Facebook Gift (three of them, used as sleeves) | Adrianna Boots, Subcouture | Striped Socks, It Girls * | Falling Socks, Pretty n' Love * | Spike Velvet Bow, Saint Laurent Paris | Stunning Falls Scarf, Tingeling ||

Help : How to organize your Stardoll wardrobe

Organization is essential when you have a lot of clothes and accessories. It is so much easier to create an outfit when you know where everything is and you don't have to scroll back and forth forever. A few years back I have written a similar post (here) but many things changed since then, many new features were added and many more clothes were purchased. I almost never used the clothes at the end of my wardrobe since it took so much time to get there. So I decided to take advantage of a feature I've never used before, the closet tab that's on the left side of every room, the one you use when you want to create a room style. It's a time consuming process, but it's worth it. You need to separate all your clothes in categories (dresses, pants, coats etc) and subcategories accroding to color, length, style. Same goes for accessories, shoes and bags. When you are done it will be so much easier to jump through pages to find a different category. Apart from beeing practical, you will notice that you can see your clothes much better now, since their are not overlapping one another. And if you keep it neat and tidy, it will save you a lot of time in the future :)

Lately on Stardoll : Miss Stardoll World '14, Callie's Picks and Mawi London

This was definitely not the most exciting Stardoll week. We got a few releases, but nothing seemed impressive or worth writing a post for it.
The week started with the release of this year's Miss Stardoll World store. Usually there are some great choices this store has to offer, but this wasn't the case now. The whole collection reminded me of the Versus tribute we got a few months back, unispired and dull. The only thing I bought were the "Velvet Laces Boots".
On Wednesday as usual the new issue of Callie's Picks was released. The 24th issue was all about "Grunge Glam". I have to admit that this whole grunge thing is starting to get a bit tiring. There are many more interesting styles that grunge and girly, Stardoll! However, there were a few pieces that are worth buying. My faves were two things I already own, the "Silver Sweater Dress" and the "Checkered Red Shirt", which I both styled in the "How to Style: The Oversized Sweater" post from last week. My other two picks were the "Bleached Ruffle Jeans Skirt" and the "Nails Necklace". The skirt was a piece that I stumbled upon quite frequently while searching the bazaar, but I never got around buying it. I'll probably never wear it as a skirt, it's just too short, but I love the ruffled finish. I'm not quite sure how I can possibly style the necklace but it is an iteresting piece I wouldn't miss.
As for the last release of the week, the Mawi jewelery collection, I just can't get paste the amazing display and the presentation of the store. It's so much different than what we usually see on Stardoll. Very modern and editorial like. I might buy a pair of earrings in the future, but as of now there is nothing I can't live without.
