Changes

I changed the header of the blog. It's now easier to find the different collumns without having to scroll all the way down and search through the labels. If you click different parts of the image you'll get to visit different categories.

If you are a new reader click the "New Reader?" sign for some tips and informations!

Do you like it? I'm not sure yet how I feel about it. It definitely is more practical but maybe it's a bit overwhelming? I 'd love to hear your opinion..

Plaza Must Haves : Black And White Edition

There are some items in my wardrobe that are key pieces. When I'm feeling uninspired or is one of those "I have nothing to wear" days, I turn to them and they never fail me. They can be well combined together or can supplement other pieces as well. You can still find all of them in Starplaza, some are from older releases while others are relatively new. So be sure to check them out because you don't know how long they will still  be available to buy :)
Ruffled Pocket Pants, Bonjour Bisou | Linen Boater Top, It Girls | Eyelashes Glasses, Evil Panda | Layer Boot Hide, Nelly | Olivia Shoulder Bag, It Girls | Bright Wedding Skirt, Voile | Frappe Tee, It Girls | Minimalist Alexander Heels, Bonjour Bisou | Raffia Sunhat, Millionaire Mansion Fashion | White Mariniere Pull, Basics | Clean Cut Shirt, Nelly | Cave Painting Sweater, Evil Panda

Tip : Use the search button at the bottom of the page to see how me or other dollies around Stardoll have styled those pieces! Just type the name of the item, click search and you can see a list of older posts that are featuring this item.

My Style : Metal Hair

It's wierd how inspiration comes at the most random times. I was trying since yesterday to style the "Chiffon Rhinestone Collar" from Callie's Picks, but the result was unsatisfying. I always ended up looking like a flamengo dancer, which is not bad but not I was aiming for... I wanted also to wear the "Runway Shoulder Bag". Nothing seemed to work until for some reason I started pilling things on my head :P Maybe it was frustration that led me to do that, but I quickly realised that this was the missing part of my outfit! So now I have a very dangerous spiked bun on top of my head, along with a snake skin purse and ruffled sleeves :P

I'm wearing : Armor Top, Fallen Angel * | Mudd Smocked Strapless Denim Romper, Kohl's * | Chiffon Rhinestone Collar, Mortal Kiss/Callie's Picks | Linen Boater Top, It Girls | Cropped Black Trousers, Decades | Runway Shoulder Bag, Royalty | Minimalist Alexander Heels, Bonjour Bisou | Kurt Sunglasses, Royalty | Random silver bracelets from Fallen Angel, Evil Panda, Tingeling

Callie's Picks Issue No. 22 : 1 Of A Kinds

I don't have much to say about this collection. I have heard around Stardoll that there are some rare and wanted items in this issue and I indeed indentify some Mortal Kiss and older Hot Buys. However my view on one-of-a-kind clothing is much, much different that what I see in this collection. I can see how some of them can be considered as unique but the rest of them looks like ordinary clothes to me, especially with the way they styled them.  This time I won't post my picks, since I'm still undecided if I want to buy those items or not. So I'll just post the highlights of the collection, pieces that stood out from the rest and according to your bugdet might worth buying. The "Chiffon Rhinestone Collar", originally from Mortal Kiss is a stunning piece you can use in many ways.To add volume to a skirt, create a peplum for a top or with a bit of resizing create ruffled sleeves! The "Coco Top" was actually the first piece that draw my attention and wanted to buy until I saw the price tag :O Why charge 25 stardollars for a plain top? I understand that you pay to get the Chanel logo, but not that much. However the top itself is a cute piece, that can look great in a sports luxe outfit. And lastly there is the "Versace Inspired Space Dress", also from Mortal Kiss. The geometric pattern and the shiny material are interesting, but the color and the fitting of the dress are not very appealing.

Sunday Remix : Shoulder Slung Moto Jacket

I don't know if you have noticed it but when I like a certain item, I tend to wear it multiple times. I usually try to avoid wearing it repeatedly, but that doesn't always work. So today I thought why not take advantage of it and create a new column? In the "Sunday Remix" posts I'll show you how I wore a piece of clothing, a pair of shoes or any accessory, in the past. It will be like a collage of how you can style an item differently every time! For this very first post, I choose my beloved "Shoulder Slung Moto Jacket" from Evil Panda. It's a go-to piece and when I first bought it I had to stop myself from wearing it all the time because it fits well in every kind of outfit and style :P

Subcouture New Collection |||

I'm wearing : Pink Primavera Gown, Royalty | Death Metal Jacket, Subcouture | Pink Strappy MSW Heels, MSW | Left and Right Shoulder Pad, Archive | Licorice Tassle Clutch, Subcouture | Lumiere Clutch, Royalty * | Right Gold Cuff, Subcouture | Solid Gold Bracelet, Riviera | Wig designed by dissolvedgirl

Yesterday a new collection of Subcouture was released. Like the previous collections it will only be available for 48 hours so you have to be quick and pick your favourites before it's gone!
I was quite impressed with the previous collection so my hopes were high for this one, especially after seeing the instagram spoiler with the spiked jacket. I must admit I was fairly dissapointed. At first glance it looks to me more like a Limited Edition collection mainly because of all these colors and the length of the dresses. It looks to "tacky" for an haute couture collection... The "Death Metal Jacket" beeing the highlight of the store and a superstar exclusive piece, was the only piece of clothing I bought. I like the combination of silver and gold the straps that are designed so you can see just a bit of skin underneath. The "Right Gold Cuff" is a lovely minimal geometric jewelry and the only con is that is a beauty parlor item. The same goes for the "Camo Veil Headpiece". You know my love for headpieces, so of course I wouldn't miss that one! It's unique and just a bit wierd, the things I look for in headpieces, but the fact that it's a beauty parlor item makes me almost certain I won't use it a lot. The "Sorbet Tassle Earrings" are cute and even though they are colorful amd maybe a little over the top, they can wirk great with a monochrome outfit. Lastly, the "Lace Up High Boots" are one of those statement shoes that can make any outfit much more interesting.

Royalty New Collection : Elie Saab

I've started writing this post almost a week ago and I haven't found time till now to finish it. I barely had time to log in to stardoll and check USD just to see the new releases.  It's such a relief to finaly have some free time to invest on my blog! Stay tuned for more posts today and tommorow :)
Last Friday a new collection of Royalty was released. Let's talk about perfection! Remember me saying that I'm not into gowns? Well, I'm into those Elie Saab gowns which are pure awesomeness. For the first time in years I'm actually excited I'm royalty :) Stardoll really hit the spot with this release. Many members were requesting an Elie Saab collection and making it royalty-exclusive was a very smart move on Stardoll's part! If I wasn't already royalty I would definitely consider beeing one just to get my hands on some of these beauties!
I really don't know where to start this review from because the beauty in this store is overwhelming. I'll probably buy most of the collection at some point, but in this post I'll show you my most favourite pieces. Let me start by writing that the prices are great. This could have easily be a Young Hollywood or a tribute collection with prices from 60sd and over. The most expensive item now costs 28 stardollars which is not much more than what we pay for regular releases.
The showpiece of the collection is of course the "Lumiere Gown". I know I'll probably never wear it but I can't resist buying it. The sparkles are beautiful and with the Underneath Store now the cleavage is not a problem.
The accessories were my second favourite part of the store, with the "Diva Black Heels" beeing the first on my list. You can never go wrong with a pair of black heels. The "Runway Shoulder Bag" is beautifully made. The color combination, the shadowing and the way it sits on the medoll, a little higher than most shoulder bags, make it a must have piece! The "Black Soiree Jacket" looks realistic and the "Black Satin Corset Dress" even though it's a simple black dress has great texture and shadowing. Finally the "Haute Couture Black Lace Top" is a very delicate piece with great detailing and the "Pink Primavera Gown" it's an ethereal and airy piece. Overall I like most of the store but I knew that many of them wouldn't fit in my wardrobe so I limited myself to these pieces.

Callie's Picks Issue No. 21 : Designer Galore

On Wednesday the 21st Callie's Picks issue was released and the theme was "Designer Galore". A collection of designer pieces from the archive of Stardoll. I love the whole aesthetic of the issue. The mannequins are not overloaded with clothes and accessories and the arrangement brings out a feeling of luxury. It's true that some of the dresses are highly priced, but that's what the whole issue is all about. Designer pieces are a luxury you have to pay a little more to acquire and that is something that applies both in real life and Stardoll!
My favourite piece is the "Blouse Inspired by Stella McCartney". It's a stunning piece, one of the few in Stardoll that is as good as the real life version (if not better). It was an item I coveted for a long time and when I found it a few months ago (I bought two of them for some reason :P) I was super happy. I've been trying all these months to style it properly but still haven't found how. It's a statement piece and that makes it impossible for me to include in an outfit no matter how much I like it! I found an old post from PaperdollHeaven Lookbook, that featured --Kayley wearing it and looking absolutely fierce! Click here to read it.
My other pick is the little "Black Gucci Handbag". It's cute, minimal and it can work with many different styles.
Overall, nice presentation but not that great individual pieces.

The Five Pieces Project #1

The idea of a new column was on my mind for some time now and yesterday I finally decided what it would be. So let me tell you a few words about the "Five Pieces Project". For every post I'll set myself the challenge of creating five different outfits using only five pieces of clothing. Shoes and
accessories are not included, so I can go crazy with them :P As you can probably tell by now I usually overload my outfits, so I thought that this project will be a good way to see what I can do with much less clothes and will help me focus more on accessorizing. For this very first post, my five choices are : Frappe Tee, Linen Boater Top and Blue Wrap Around Skirt from It Girls, Black Cigarette Pants from Windows on the World and Bright Coat from Archive.
Having said all that, I must admit that I found it very difficult, to the point where I wanted to drop the idea. I spend a few good hours last night trying to figure out what to do and I was dissapointed many times during theses hours, but at the end I liked stepping out of my comfort zone for once and challenging myself! Ok, I should better stop
writing now, let's move on to the outfits! I know I kind of cheated with the rotated shirt, but I'll just play dumb and act like this never happened :P

1. Blue Wrap Around Skirt, It Girls * | Frappe Tee, It Girls | Black Fendi Belt, Fendi | Olivia Shoulder Bag, It Girls | Blowing Tassel Purse, Riviera | Iris Shoes, Nelly | Stacy Cap * | Bow Visor, Riviera | Pearl Top Shades, Callie's Picks | Sunglasses, Bonjour Bisou * ||  2. Frappe Tee, It Girls | Linen Boater Top, It Girls | Pastel Ankle Socks, Saint Laurent Paris | Flats Dots Heels, Evil Panda | White Beach Pack, Riviera | Violet Street Hat, Mr * ||  3. Black Cigarette Pants, Windows on the World | Linen Boater Top, It Girls | Alice Sandals, Nelly | Floral Bag, Roberto Cavalli | Black Silver Buckle Belt, Voile | Heavy Chainlink Necklace, Saint Laurent | Raffia Sunhat, Millionaire Mansion Fashion * ||  4. Bright Coat, Archive | Blue Wrap Around Skirt, It Girls * | Belt and Glove Belt * , Bonjour Bisou, layered undeneath skirt | Charlun Shoes, Killah | Laptop Case, Mr * | Safari Scarf, It Girls * | Striped Socks, It Girls * | Solid Gold Bracelet, Riviera ||  5. Blue Wrap Around Skirt, It Girls * | Black Cigarette Pants, Windows on the World | Burlesque Black Boots, Special Offer * | Beige Headscarf, Apres Ski * | Western Buckles Belt, PPQ | Suspenders, Fallen Angel * | Flapper Hat, Decades * | Black Riding Cao, Original Future * | Kurt Sunglasses, Royalty | Zadar Sunglasses, Killah ||

Question : In the future would it be better to post the five looks in different posts or all together like I did now? I think it's kind of confusing writing down all the items I used for all five of them, but on the other hand I find it more appealing having them all in one picture.  I need your feedback as readers. What do you think? What to you find easier to read?

How to Style : Long Coat

We are in the middle of summer (at least in the northern hemisphere), the temperature here is almost 40 degrees and it's that time of the year when I start dreaming of cold weather, coats, sweaters and many layers! I just want this torture called summer to end :/ This situation made me remember the request sindiralle has made some days ago for a long coat "How to Style it" post. So here we are :)
The thing with coats and jackets is that you can't wear them in many different ways since they cover up a large part of your outfit (if not entirely). So accessorizing is important!

From left to right : Coat Insp By Jil Sander, Fudge Boys | Pepita Jacket, It Girls | Double Breasted Trench, DKNY | White Diva Chemisier, PPQ | Ytor Jacket, Diesel | West Egg Coat, Decades

Bonjour Bisou New Collection

**I know I'm terribly late but lately I don't have much time for writing posts and I try my best to keep up with everything, both real life and stardoll. So till everything is settled I'll probably write once or twice per week.**
A new Bonjour Bisou collection was released on Monday with everyday casual clothes. The first thing that caught my attention was the "Emerald Maxi Cardigan", thinking it was bell bottom pants. I was confused when I realised it was actually a long vest, and I still haven't decided what to do. I really like the color and the fringe and tassels details, but styling it as a vest seems impossible. My favourite piece was the "Chanel Inspired Shopper". I found it a bit expensive but it's a classic design, it's black and it's the right size, not small like most of the new purses. My other purchase was the "Lace Trimmed Tee". It is priced in starcoins and even though I'm not particularly keen on the design and cut of the shirt, I couldn't pass the so adorable lace sleeves!
I'm wearing : Paris Tee, It Girls | Ruffled Pocket Pants, Bonjour Bisou | Dior Couture Black Trousers, Dior | Dior Inspired Heels, Museum Mile | Chanel Inspired Shopper, Bonjour Bisou | Gold Body Jewel, Riviera | Solid Gold Choker, Riviera | Heavy Chainlink Necklace, Saint Laurent Paris

LE New Collection

The new LE collection is here. There is one notable thing about this collection, it's not grunge/90's style like we were promised. It feels more like a wild west/bohemian style.

I was away when it got released so I missed the two items I liked, the "Electra Fringe Shawl" and the "LE Chiffon Vest". However I still got some things, only accessories though. I got the "Diamond Rivets Hat" and the "Chain Dallas Hat". They are not something special, but I bought them eitherway for my hat collection..
I also bought two pair of shoes, the "Celine Wedges" and the "Sherriff Snake Wedges". At first look I didn't like them but I have saved some stardollars for LE, which I wanted to spend. So I got them through Stardoll Access after many hours and with without thinking about it too much, just for the sake of it. I can honestly say that I don't regret it at all. I'm in love with the "Celine Wedges", they are beautiful and unique with the quirky heel! I wore them right away, and I'm sure I'll get a lot of wear from the other pair too.

I'm wearing : Basic Black Long Skirt, Basics * | Blue Wrap Around Skirt, It Girls * | Shoulder Slung Moto Jacket, Evil Panda | Bracelet Clutch, Callie's Picks/Bonjour Bisou/Archive | Heavy Chainlink Necklace, Saint Laurent Paris Tribute | Shackle Metal Necklace, Fallen Angel *

Callie's Picks Issue No. 20 : Bikinimania

We are in the middle of July and Stardoll has decided to dedicate this week's Callie's Picks to that! That means a collection with bikinis, sandals and beach accessories. In Callie's words "But, whether or not you're on the beach or stuck in an office, it's always summer on Stardoll".

There is not much for me in this issue and many members share the same opinion as me. However I got past the beachwear and focused on the accessories of the collection.
I lately have an obsession with layering necklaces so I got two lovely ones from the store, the "Turquoise Tradition Necklace" and the "Gold Cascade Necklace".
I bought the "Odalisque Pants" as a layering piece as I doubt I'll wear them as they are!
The (once PPQ) "All Black Sandals" are a staple for every wardrobe and can work in many outfits!
Lastly there is a Versus Tribute bag, "Leather Satchel" which you can barely see in the left outfit, layered underneather the jacket. Quite nice but I'm not sure if I want to spend so much for it.

What was your favourite piece?
I'm wearing : (left) Frappe Tee, It Girls | Fighting for Trousers, Nelly | Odalisque Pants, Rio/Callie's Picks | Shoulder Slung Moto Jkt, Evil Panda | Leather Satchel, Versus Tribute/Callie's Picks | All Black Sandals, PPQ/Callie's Picks | Solid Gold Choker, Riviera | Turquoise Tradition Necklace, Callie's Picks | (right) Frappe Tee, It Girls | Basic White Long Skirt, Basics * | Charlun Shoes, Killah | Solid Gold Choker, Riviera | Turquoise Tradition Necklace, Callie's Picks | Gold Cascade Necklace, Callie's Picks
