Callie's Picks Issue No.11 : Artpop

The theme of this week's release is "ArtPop". The prices range from 7 to 25 stardollars and there are seven starcoins items, ranging from 48 to 150 starcoins.This collection is filled with crazy patterns and bright colors. Since I'm not into colorful clothes, I had a hard time finding clothes that were appealing to me. However in this burst of color there are some pieces worth buying.

The "Picasso Pony Heels", 23 stardollars, (originally from Nickolas Kirkwood) are quirky yet wearable.The "Fringed Gloves", 8 stardollars, (originally from Frankie Morello tribute) I had them already. I use them a lot layered under coats or long sleevd tops. They add just a little bit of fun in an outfit. The "Stacked Cuffs", 56 starcoins, (originally from ELLE), are not something special, but they are very cheap. I imagine wearing the "Sequin Skirt", 13 stardollars, in a glam rock outfit with a pair of combat boots and a structured jacket. And last but definitely not least, the "Dress Ispired By Alexander McQueen", 16 stardollars, (originally from Voile) is the wow piece of the collection. Even though it does not fit well on the legs, for 16 stardollars it's a total bargain.

PPQ New Collection

Two new floors were added yesterday on PPQ. This collection has mostly black dresses with a few colored pieces. It's inspired by the Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection. The prices range from 8 to 32 stardollars.

I was really impressed by the accessories. I mean, can we take a minute to admire how extremely beautiful is the "PPQ Gaucho Hat" (10 stardollars)?

The "PPQ Long Earrings" (5 stardollars) and the "Tangerine Chiffon Scarf" (8 stardollars) were my other purchases.

As for the clothes, I was not thrilled. I like the "Marabu Peplum Top" (20 stardollars) and the top of the "PPQ Peplum Gown" (26 stardollars). I wish the gown was two pieces so I could buy the top part..

I spotted two dolls wearing some of the new items. BelleJolie used the "PPQ Gaucho Hat" and the "Velvet Keyhole Jumpsuit" (28 stardollars) in a vintage inspired outfit. She looks like she came right out of a classic movie.  Flor_14 wore the hat and the "PPQ Court Shoes" in a total black, very chic outfit. These shoes are very difficult to style but she incorporate them very well in her outfit.

Lately on Stardoll : Bonjour Bisou & Nelly

We had two new collections this week. The first one was from Bonjour Bisou. The prices range from 8 to 19 stardollars and there are two starcoins iems,that cost 85 and 106 starcoins.You can find some very pretty clothes in this collection. I was immediatelly drawn to the "Printed Sweater", the "Candy Little Sweater" (such a divine color) and the "White Floral Dress".

The second collection was from Nelly. Two new floors were added and the prices range from 4 to 26 stardollars. Quite honestly, I wasn't impressed by this collection. It seems a bit rushed and poorly made.And my favourite item, the "Oggy Shoes" don't fit well. Except those shoes, my picks are the "Cara Sweater" for 22 stardollars and the "Static Metal Belt" for 6 stardollars.

Young Hollywood Oscars 2014 Collection

A new Young Hollywood collection inspired by the Oscars was released today. Stardoll gaves us two gowns and a suit, priced from 38 to 130 stardollars.

The real versions of the dresses were from Prada and Atelier Versace and were worn by Lupita Nyong'o (who quickly became a style icon) and Kate Hudson. The suit was Givenchy and it was worn by Michael B. Jordan. The gowns were beautiful and Stardoll did a great job recreating them in just a few hours. However they are supossed to be worn without a bra and the bra on the medoll ruins the aesthetic of the dresses. I wish we had an option to remove the bras from medolls since there are many clothes with deep v that we can't wear properly.

Callie's Picks Issue No.10 : Belle Of The Ball

The new collection of Callie's Picks was released yesterday. The theme was "Belle of the Ball" and it's Carnival inspired. The store has nine different costumes (one of each is for guys) and the prices range from 4 to 22 stardollars and from 52 to 84 starcoins. 

Even though there are not many items in starcoins, the stardollar items are quite reasonably priced. Stardoll seems to heard the members complains and started selling the pieces in their original prices.

I liked quite a few pieces from this collection. My picks are :

-The "Beaded Dress Inspired By McQueen", 22 stardollars : It's beautiful and it's inspired by Alexander McQueen, need I say more?

-The "Black No Heel Shoe Tights", 13 stardollars : I already had them (from Windows on the World) and I'm wearing them quite often. It's one of my favourite piece of clothing in my wardrobe.

-The "Embroidered Bell Sleeve Coat", 16 stardollars :  I had this one too, it's was from Tingeling. I like the kimono sleeves and the graphics.

-The "Forest Fairy Hair", 6 stardollars : I liked the pastel, faded color of this one and for 6 stardollars it's quite a bargain. 

-The "Metal Onesie", 11 stardollars : Yeah, I 'm wierd and I like this.

Strike A Pose New Store

The store that many members wanted is finally here. Strike a Pose is a store with different poses for legs and hands. The store was only for superstars and it was limited. The prices range from 20 to 175 stardollars and the interior is also available for 100 stardollars.

I have to admit that this store got me super excited. I love the clean color palette and the loose shapes, there is an elegant feeling in this collection that many of the latest store releases are missing. It looks that Stardoll put effort and time in making it and I'm sure these will be some of the most wanted items in the future. 

My picks are :
1."Weaving Coat Pose" , 55 stardollars : This one was the first thing I put in my cart without even thinking. The black and white contrast and the beautiful shading caught my attention.

2."Street Style Blazer" , 40 stardollars : I still haven't tried that on my doll since it's glitchy and when I click it, instead of it the "Street Style Scarf" appears.

3."New York Blazer Denim" , 55 stardollars : I'll be completely honest, I got this one only for the hanging blazer. I don't wear jeans in Stardoll nor in real life, I find them extremely boring. It would be so much better with a pair of tailored pants, but they were selling out pretty fast so I had to act fast and not think about it for too long.

4."Strike a Pose Skirt" , 45 stardollars : I have mixed feelings for this one. The pose and color of the leg looks awkward, but I thought I could manage to cover that somehow, and the skirt is very pretty alone.

Riviera New Collection

A new collection of Riviera was released today and it's inspired by Carnival. The prices range from 3 to 17 stardollars.

The main piece of this collection is the extravagant, sparkly, feather costume (worn by Rihanna in real life), which made me super excited when I saw it and I immediatelly added it in my cart even though I know I'll never wear it. It doesn't really fit with the other modest and casual beachwear and it's actually the only outfit that looks carnival and maybe that's why it caught my attention.

My other picks from this collection are the "Solid Gold Choker" for 4 stardollars, the "Solid Gold Bracelet" for 5 stardollars, the "Floripa Bikini Top" for 10 stardollars and the"Sheer Beach Skirt" for 14 stardollars.

The accessories don't go to your beauty parlor which is a plus and thtey can add an edgy touch to an outfit. The Floripa Bikini (top and bottom) is beautiful, I want to have that in real life. However Stardoll-wise the bottom is not very wearable unless you dress in a beach villa/pool/summer themed outfit. On the other hand the top can be easily worn as a bustier. As for the skirt it's a interesting piece,it can be worn in many ways but the price is a no no.

Callie's Picks Issue No.9 : Head Over Heels

This week's Callie's Picks issue is of course dedicated to Valentine's Day. Since Stardoll has shown it's preference to pink color, it wouldn't have missed the opportunity to gives us one more pink collection. I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I really dislike pink, so this collection is my least favourite (after the Think Pink one). 

This issue has one floor and the prices range from 5 to 25 stardollars and from 85 to 110 starcoins.

The only thing I will buy from this collection is the Elie Saab Insp Necklace and that's only because it's on starcoins.
If I had to pick three items from this store these would be the "Blouse Inspired by Luella", the "Sweetheart Dress" and the "Valentine Sunglasses".


Usually this is were I post an outfit using pieces from the collection, but this time nothing appealed or inspired me, so I will just pass it this time.

Pretty n' Love New Collection

A new collection of Pretty n' Love was released earlier today. Of course the color palette consists of lots of pastels, pinks and red. The prices range from 6 to 24 stardollars and from 92 to 148 starcoins.  (click the pics to enlarge)

My picks from this collection are the "Alpaca Leaf Sweater", the "Scalloped Minty Playsuit" and the "Rosebuds Scarf". I also liked the "Winter Romance Purse" but it is quite expensive. Here the outfit I created using some of them. I have to give credit for this outfit to sparklewand12 from "The Stardoll Lookbook", who showed the flippy skirt "trick" in this post featuring Liankaaa13 .

Fallen Angel New Collection

The new collection, which was released earlier today, has a lot of leather and black clothes. There are some wonderful pieces in this collection, like the quilted skirt ("Ann Buckle Skirt"), which I'm going to style in this post. The prices range from 4 to 16 stardollars and from 86 to 140 starcoins.

My picks from this store are the "Ann Buckle Skirt", the "Armor Top" and the "Babylon Tee".

Callie's Picks Issue No.8 : Red Carpet Ready

A new issue of Callie's Picks was released today. This week's theme is Red Carpet. The store has two floors full of gowns. The prices range from 5 to 36 stardollars and from 64 to 260 starcoins.

Gowns are not my cup of tea. They don't let you unravel your creativity. So in this store I went for the short dresses, like the Metallic Bustier Dress and the Wrap Embroidered Frock (which to my surprise was in starcoins). However if you like gowns I would say that the best choice is the Layered Train Velvet Gown and the Sparkling Floor Lenght Gown. As for the shoes and accessories, my faves are the Studded Heels, the Belted Bag, the Diamond Quartz Earrings and the Gold Mesh Necklace.

Before you buy anything from the store though, it's better to do a small search on starbazaar, cause you may find some pieces cheaper there, than in Callie's Picks.

Limited Edition New Collection

The much awaited new collection of LE was released on Friday. After a lot of waiting the collection was finally released many hours after the expected. The prices range from 35 to 200 stardollars. It was sold out very fast however only a few items appealed to me.

My faves were the "Pleather Motorcycle Pants" for 70 stardollars, the "Glitter LE Blouse" for 120 stardollars and the "Violet Dallas Platforms" for 55 stardollars. Unfortunately I was too late and was only able to buy the pink blouse. 

Evil Panda New Collection

Earlier today a new collection of Evil Panda appeared on Starplaza. I have to admit that this week on Stardoll started very well. This collection has some very interesting pieces. 

The prices range from 96 to 152 starcoins and from 7 to 18 stardollars and they are certainly not buyer friendly. There is a constant increase of the prices lately on Stardoll, not only in this store. Starcoins items are rarely seen anymore in the new releases and you can hardly buy something less than 6 stardollars. I would love to know what do you think of that.

Lately on Stardoll : Apres Ski, Young Hollywood and Callie's Picks

So far this week we got many releases but nothing exciting or interesting.

First was a mini collection of Young Hollywood, inspired by the Golden Glode Awards red carpet. They sold out pretty fast. However, I still can understand why. It was a dissapointing collection and very expensive.

After a few hours we got a new collection of Apres Ski, possibly the most interesting of the three releases.

My picks from the store are the Fuzzy Beverly Sweater for 14 stardollars, the Apres Ski Pumps for 10 stardollars and the Sueded Platforms for 10 stardollars.

And lastly, earlier today, a new collection of Callie's Picks was released. The theme of this issue was "Statement Tee". The collection consists of casual clothes, it's colorful and honestly the most boring so far.

My picks are the Gucci Yellow Shoulder Bag for 14 stardollars (originally for Gucci Holiday Tribute), the Osaka Ultra High Platforms for 75 starcoins and the Candie's Plaid Square Scarf for 9 stardollars (originally from Kohl's)
