Callie's Picks Issue No.8 : Red Carpet Ready

A new issue of Callie's Picks was released today. This week's theme is Red Carpet. The store has two floors full of gowns. The prices range from 5 to 36 stardollars and from 64 to 260 starcoins.

Gowns are not my cup of tea. They don't let you unravel your creativity. So in this store I went for the short dresses, like the Metallic Bustier Dress and the Wrap Embroidered Frock (which to my surprise was in starcoins). However if you like gowns I would say that the best choice is the Layered Train Velvet Gown and the Sparkling Floor Lenght Gown. As for the shoes and accessories, my faves are the Studded Heels, the Belted Bag, the Diamond Quartz Earrings and the Gold Mesh Necklace.

Before you buy anything from the store though, it's better to do a small search on starbazaar, cause you may find some pieces cheaper there, than in Callie's Picks.

Limited Edition New Collection

The much awaited new collection of LE was released on Friday. After a lot of waiting the collection was finally released many hours after the expected. The prices range from 35 to 200 stardollars. It was sold out very fast however only a few items appealed to me.

My faves were the "Pleather Motorcycle Pants" for 70 stardollars, the "Glitter LE Blouse" for 120 stardollars and the "Violet Dallas Platforms" for 55 stardollars. Unfortunately I was too late and was only able to buy the pink blouse.

Help : How to resize and rotate clothes

I'm aware that most of you already know this trick but I've recently learned how to do it and I wanted to share it. I find it very convenient for resizing hats.

(Click the picture to enlarge)

Go to your main room or one of the luxury suites (beach villa, alpine chalet e.t.c.). Enlarge the hat to the desired size (you can also make it smaller, rotate it or flip it) | Place your doll on the arrow | Now take your hat and place it on the arrow too | Wear the hat properly and you're done!

Note : There is a catch in this trick. The clothes you resized will appear messed up when you take a picture, save in your album or when you visit your starbazaar.

How to Style : Leather Jacket

A few words : The leather jacket is a fashion staple. It has become popular around 40s and 50s and it's still a must have piece for every wardrobe. It is not only a useful piece that will keep us warm during winter months but it's also stylish and versatile. Nowadays leather jackets can be worn from day to night and can complement any outfit, even a very feminine one.

Evil Panda New Collection

Earlier today a new collection of Evil Panda appeared on Starplaza. I have to admit that this week on Stardoll started very well. This collection has some very interesting pieces. 

The prices range from 96 to 152 starcoins and from 7 to 18 stardollars and they are certainly not buyer friendly. There is a constant increase of the prices lately on Stardoll, not only in this store. Starcoins items are rarely seen anymore in the new releases and you can hardly buy something less than 6 stardollars. I would love to know what do you think of that.

 My picks are the "Shoulder Slung Moto Jkt", the "Satin Harem Pants", the "Evil Valentine Top" and the "Cherry Bomb Dress".

Lately on Stardoll : Apres Ski, Young Hollywood and Callie's Picks

So far this week we got many releases but nothing exciting or interesting.

First was a mini collection of Young Hollywood, inspired by the Golden Glode Awards red carpet. They sold out pretty fast. However, I still can understand why. It was a dissapointing collection and very expensive.

After a few hours we got a new collection of Apres Ski, possibly the most interesting of the three releases.

My picks from the store are the Fuzzy Beverly Sweater for 14 stardollars, the Apres Ski Pumps for 10 stardollars and the Sueded Platforms for 10 stardollars.

And lastly, earlier today, a new collection of Callie's Picks was released. The theme of this issue was "Statement Tee". The collection consists of casual clothes, it's colorful and honestly the most boring so far.

My picks are the Gucci Yellow Shoulder Bag for 14 stardollars (originally for Gucci Holiday Tribute), the Osaka Ultra High Platforms for 75 starcoins and the Candie's Plaid Square Scarf for 9 stardollars (originally from Kohl's)

How to Style : Androgynous

Let me introduce you my new column : "How to style". Each post will be about a current fashion trend and how to recreate it on Stardoll. For this first post I chose the "Androgynous" style.

A few words : Androgynous can be described as a combination of masculine and feminine style. An androgynous outfit often consists of tailored clothes, suits, buttoned up shirts, oxfords shoes and structured purses.  Pixie cuts or slicked-back pony tails and bold brows complete the look. Accessories like a hat or a watch add a nice touch.

How to style it :

Colors : Black and white is a classic combination. If you want to add color keep it simple, don't use more that three colors.

Shoes : The pointy heels add femininity to the outfit, without making it girly. Brogues, loafers or ankle boots work equally well.

Accessories : If you prefer to tuck the shirt into your pants, then a belt is needed. Choose one in the same color as your pants. A bowler hat can be added as well.

Bag : Go for a simple, structured bag. The attention is on your outfit, so the bag must supplement it and not overshadow it.

Jewellery : Choose wisely your jewellery. Wear a pair of earrings or a chunky necklace under your shirt collar. 

Make Up : Bold brows and nude lips are a must have. Create shadows and angles with the blush. For the eyes you can either keep it clean with black eyeliner or make a smokey eye (black or brown).

Lately on Stardoll : Callie's Picks, Voile Holiday Boutique, Holidays in Starplaza and Velvet Orchid

Two new issues of Callie's Picks were released during my absent, the "Celebration Issue" and the "Think Pink". 

The Celebration Issue had two floor full of beautiful gowns and party dresses. This collection was my favourite so far.

The Think Pink collection has one floor full of pink clothes and accessories.

A collection of Voile Holiday Boutique was also released. There are some pretty things on this collection as well, like the "Going With The Wind Gown" (first floor, third dress) and the "Fairy Dress" (second floor, third dress).

And lastly, there were some new addittions on Velvet Orchid, Bonjour Bisou and It Girls.
